Numbers 35:8-10

⁸ Each of the Israelite tribes must give to the Levites towns from their own land. The larger tribes will give more towns. The smaller tribes will give fewer towns. That is because the larger tribes have received more land than the smaller tribes.’

⁹ The Lord said to Moses, ¹⁰ ‘Tell the Israelites to do this when they cross the Jordan River and they go into Canaan.
